Solar & Weather forecasts.

The Met office were telling us in August that 2011 would be the coolest summer for 18 years with an "average" temperature in the East Midlands between June 1st and mid August just 15C.

Well it's now early December and guess what? they're now telling us that Autumn 2011 was the second warmest ever...The mean temperature across the UK was 11.2C (52.2F), just below the record set in 2006 of 11.39C.

The unifying factor in their reports is that the weathers:
  1. Changeable.
  2. Unpredictable.
Despite these caveats the British public love to read about what's happening, notwithstanding  the   obvious conclusion that the met office haven't got the faintest idea what's going to happen to our weather next week, never mind next season.

My cast iron prediction for next week, (doesn't matter where you live, or which day).

"Cloudy, sunny intervals with occasional rain".

Sound familiar?

  1. I think with the emphasis on "occasional rain" if you believe all the news about droughts. I've certainly noticed lower river levels where farmers are pumping rivers for irrigation.
