Holiday with Solar Power.

I have to admit I'm careful with my money! I had to work very hard for it and I don't pass it on without a fight.

I invested in PV panels on my roof partly because I want my generation to pass onto the next one a better world, but significantly because it made sense financially.
Have you booked a flight recently? We've just returned from a trip to sunny Portugal using the ever friendly Ryanair.

I'm sure all of us have experienced the pleasure of seeing an initial price for a budget airline flight fade as it doubles in price once you've added all the "extra's" onto the screen.
They make a great song and dance about offering consumers "choice", but they still charge you a price for booking a seat, checking in and taking a suitcase with you.

Imagine sometime in the (probably VERY distant future) when fuel costs will be significantly reduced by solar powered aircraft. A pipe dream? Solar aircraft link.  I'm not so sure.

I was a child of the 50's when the "Eagle" comic assured children that when they were grown-up we would all have jet packs attached to our backs and would fly to the office, factory or shopping.
Well, they got that wrong, but life has changed fundamentally for us in a very short time. Mobile phones, laptops and tablets now allow us to control our lives in a way our grandparents would never have recognized. I suspect that the ever increasing rate of technological advance will surprise our children in the future in the same way as I was.

Despite my comic getting it wrong all those years ago, I still look forward to the day I give the airline two fingers, as I strap on my solar powered back-pack and zoom off to sunny lands.
